Costa Rica opens its doors to Acrobatic Gymnastics

The discipline of Acrobatic Gymnastics, internationally known as Acrosportarrives for the first time in Costa Rica with a training camp for athletes and coaches, which took place on August 15, 16 and 17 at the Gymnasium #2 of the Metropolitan Park La Sabana.

During three days, participants were able to explore a modality that mixes strength, flexibility and coordination through spectacular figures, human pyramids and dynamic team movements.

The program was hosted by Mexican Katia Navarrete, a specialist in the discipline, who shared balance techniques, jumps and turns, emphasizing correct execution and safety.

The president of the Gymnastics and Allied Sports Federation, Lorena Villarreal, highlighted the importance of this incorporation, assuring that “gymnastics in Costa Rica continues to grow. To our traditional modalities such as Rhythmic, Artistic, Aerobic, Gymnastics For All and Parkour, we now add Acrobatic Gymnastics, which we are sure will gain many followers”.

Sessions were held from Friday, August 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, August 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, August 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
