Bárbara Domingos wins her third Pan American title at home

The Rio 2026 Senior Pan American Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships left an unforgettable week for the continental sport. Brazil celebrated a historic performance led by Bárbara Domingos, who won her third individual All Around title and once again demonstrated why she is one of the leading figures in rhythmic gymnastics in the region.

The Brazilian won the gold with a total of 111.700 points, beating Megan Chu (110.350) and Natalie de la Rosa (109.900), also from the United States. The podium confirmed the dominance of Domingos, who had already won the All Around in Guadalajara 2023 and Guatemala 2024, adding now her third continental title, this time in front of her home crowd.

In addition to the gold in the all-around competition, Domingos closed an outstanding participation with team gold, gold in clubs, gold in hoop, silver in hoop, bronze in ball and bronze in ribbon, becoming one of the most successful gymnasts of the championship.

On the other hand, the American Megan Chu was also one of the great protagonists of the competition. The American won gold in ball, silver in ribbon, bronze in hoop and clubs, as well as the silver medal in the All Around.

Special mention should be made of Argentina’s Celeste D’Arcangelo, who achieved a valuable fourth place in the All Around. The result reflects the growth and work done during the last years, besides qualifying to the ribbon and ball finals, consolidating herself among the best gymnasts of the continent.

Geovanna Santos rocked the Carioca Arena

One of the most emotional moments of the championship came with the performance of Geovanna Santos. The Brazilian conquered the gold medals in hoop and ribbon, causing an explosion of joy in the stands. The audience accompanied each of her performances and celebrated with the gymnast each of her conquests.

The connection between the athletes and the fans was one of the great postcards of the tournament. Throughout the competition, the gymnasts received constant support from the spectators, generating an atmosphere of respect and emotion that was highlighted by delegations from all over the continent.

The set finals were full of emotions as all gymnasts gave their all in each routine. Mexico won the silver medal in the Mixed Final to end their Pan American competition, after winning two bronze medals in Ball and All Around. While the United States won two silver medals in All Around and 5 Ball and bronze in the Mixed Final.

Paraguay made history

Among the highlights of the championship was the performance of the Paraguayan team. In its first participation in a Senior Pan American Championship, Paraguay qualified for the final of the mixed 3 hoops and 2 mallets event and finished in eighth place.

Beyond the result, the qualification to a continental final represents a milestone for Paraguayan rhythmic gymnastics and an important step for the development of the discipline in the country.
