Mexican gymnast Karla Diaz, announced on her official Instagram account that she is retiring forever from rhythmic gymnastics after a 25-year career and a history of medals that brought glory to her country.
In the message he wrote “I say goodbye to high performance with a full heart. Knowing that dreams were left pending, but at the same time, recognizing that I gave everything of myself and more (…) Each stage in my career will always have a special place in my heart. I would do it all over again and again,” he added.
Karla also gave special thanks to her parents, coaches, friends and all those who were part of her path to success.
Her last presentation as a gymnast was at the Elite National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships 2025 held in Guadalajara, where she received a standing ovation from the audience and was recognized by the Mexican Federation. Federation Gymnastics Federation for her excellent sport trajectory in more than a decade with the National Team.
“For the delight of watching you make art with every movement. Your farewell on the tapestry leaves a living legacy with those who dreamed thanks to you” reads one of the acknowledgements.
The multiple Pan American medalist ended her message with a promise to give back all that gymnastics has given her.
