Gymnast Simone Biles was awarded double honors at ESPN’s ESPYS 2025 (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Awards for outstanding athletes.
The Best Championship Performance and Best Athlete – Women’s Sports awards demonstrate Biles’ impact on gymnastics in her country and the world, “that was very unexpected, especially in an all-male category,” she said in a brief speech to a standing ovation from the audience.
The 28-year-old superstar is the author of impressive figures such as the 11 medals Olympic and 30 at World Championships, and added to that 7 ESPYS awards (2017, 2018, 2018, 2021, 2024 and 2025).
Paris 2024 represents the basis for the award, since it won three gold medals and one silver medal in that sporting event, a return with a lot of focus after its participation in Tokyo.
Triumphant return
