With the Pan American Artistic Gymnastics<\/strong> Championships organized by the Pan American Gymnastics Union (UPAG) about to begin in Rio de Janeiro, excitement is building to find out who will be the next continental champions in the Individual All-Around competitions, titles that in recent years have been won by some of the biggest names in American gymnastics.<\/p>\n\n In women\u2019s gymnastics, recent history has been marked by the talent of gymnasts who went on to shine on the world\u2019s biggest stages. Brazil\u2019s Rebeca Andrade was crowned Pan American champion in Rio de Janeiro in 2021. A year later, another Brazilian, Fl\u00e1via Saraiva, defended the title on home soil by winning gold at the 2022 edition. <\/p>\n\n Tiana Sumanasekera of the United States took the title at the 2023 Medell\u00edn event, while Michelle Pineda of Mexico claimed the continental crown at the 2024 Santa Marta event.
