One year away from the 30th edition of the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships (ACRO) Pesaro 2026, the projection points to an unprecedented event where more than 800 athletes from 45 countries are expected, including Pan American nations.
The stage will be illuminated from September 17 to 20 when the FIG ACRO Junior World Championship and World Grassroots Competition competitions begin. FIGthen, from September 24 to 27, it is the turn of the FIG Senior World Championship.
“In 2025, two camps were held in countries where acrobatic gymnastics is not actively practiced, in addition to three or four webinars with different topics and levels, from introductory to advanced preparation for judges facing FIG exams,” stated UPAG Acrobatic Gymnastics Technical Committee President Riguin Zengotita.
The United States won silver and bronze medals at the previous World Championship held in Guimarães, Portugal in 2024, the women’s teams (one silver and one bronze) and a bronze in women’s pairs, ranking seventh in the medal standings.
According to the projection of the UPAG, in November of this year Puerto Rico will host the ACRO Pan American Championship and it is expected that in the first part of 2026 a Pan American camp will be held to bring together the countries with possible candidates that could be in Pesaro.
