The World Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, held in Bulgaria, marked a before and after for the American continent. With a record participation and historic results, this event became the best Pan-American performance in the history of the World Youth Championships.
HISTORY-MAKING ACHIEVEMENTS
- Four medals won by America:
- Brazil, world runner-up in All-Around and 5-Rings, winning its first medals in a world youth championship.
- The United States, silver in the Team Final, its first podium finish in this category.
- Natalie De La Rosa (USA), bronze in the hoop final, matching Rin Keys’ historic feat in 2023.
LEADING PART
- America was represented by 5 sets and 18 individual gymnasts.
- For the first time, they competed:
- Argentina, with Emma Ceballos and Catalina Neri.
- Ecuador, with Melissa Parra.
TOP PERFORMERS BY COUNTRY
- The United States reached the apparatus finals for the first time with its team and achieved its best overall ranking: 8th place.
- Mexico, best overall ranking for its group: 14th place.
- Canada, best overall ranking for its group: 16th place.
- Marijose Delgado obtained Mexico’s best individual result: 18th place with ribbon.
- Susana Valbuena, Venezuela’s best result: 31st place with ribbon.
- Matilde Trivique, Chile’s best result: 32nd place with ball.
- Beatriz Vieira equaled Brazil’s best result (16th in ribbon), a mark set by Keila Santos.
- Adriana Zuleta equaled Colombia’s best position (38th in ribbon), previously recorded by Luna Henao.
