World Gymnastics: the new identity representing the new era of world gymnastics

The International Gymnastics Federation enters a historic phase with the launch of its new identity: World Gymnastics. The change represents much more than a name adjustment. It represents a strategic repositioning that seeks to propel gymnastics into the future, strengthening its global reach and its connection to athletes and fans.

With 165 member federations and millions of practitioners around the world, gymnastics is today one of the sports with the largest participation and following. The new brand seeks to reflect this collective strength and project it with a modern, dynamic and athlete-centric vision.

A renewed concept for a constantly evolving sport

The new World Gymnastics visual identity and logo are inspired by the core values of sport: movement, unity and expression. The organization emphasizes that this transformation aims to reinforce its mission to promote gymnastics from grassroots to elite level, consolidating a more accessible, visible and connected environment for the entire community.

“World Gymnastics represents our mission with clarity and purpose,” stated Morinari Watanabe, president of World Gymnastics. “The name reinforces our role as a global hub for athletes, coaches, fans and partners. This change goes far beyond a simple rebranding. It is a promise to elevate the sport and broaden access to gymnastics around the world.”

Eight disciplines, eight distinct identities

As part of this transformation, World Gymnastics will introduce new specific identities for each of its eight disciplines: Gymnastics for All, Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Trampoline Gymnastics, Acrobatic Gymnastics, Aerobic Gymnastics and Parkour. Each will have a unique visual approach that reflects its personality, objectives and audiences.

A transformation built together with the community

The rebranding is the result of an extensive consultation process with athletes, member federations, fans and partners around the world. From this dialogue, clear priorities emerged that will guide the roadmap for World Gymnastics:

  • Strengthening the visibility and protection of athletes
  • Improving the fan experience at events and on digital platforms
  • Expanding global participation
  • Clarifying access paths in all disciplines

Watanabe stresses that this is only the first phase of a larger evolution: “World Gymnastics is the starting point of a transformation designed to strengthen our community, celebrate its diversity and ensure that the sport continues to inspire future generations.

The implementation of the new brand has already begun and will continue to be rolled out progressively in all official channels.
