The World Gymnastics Executive Committee, meeting May 16-17 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, has taken a key decision for the future of gymnastics in emerging regions.
Among the highlights of the meeting, the Committee has entrusted the Gymnastics Federation of Jamaica with the organization of the Executive Committee meeting in a developing country to be held in 2027.
This designation represents a historic milestone for the sport in the Caribbean, consolidates the growth of the discipline in the region and provides an unprecedented platform to showcase local talent at the international level.
Election of venues for 2027
Among other agenda items, the organization of the 2027 World Junior Artistic Gymnastics Championships was approved for the city of Cairo and the Egyptian Gymnastics Federation, an event that will be held from October 20 to 31.
